Hey everyone!

My name is Patrick and I am from Arkansas. I am an aspiring ag pilot but have very few ties in the industry. I found this site and thought it was a great place to get good info from experienced people!

I have one season of experience on a ground crew and cant wait until march so I can get back out there! I am planning on taking the A&P route to get myself into a seat some time down the road.

I probably wont post much since I dont have a lot to offer around here but I will be reading for sure!

Thanks for the good site and all of the good information!!

Hi Patrick,

Have you been to the "Classic" airstrip by Monette? Used to be a good group of guys over there and a very active EAA chapter, one side was GA and there was a duster on the other side. If memory serves correct "Marty" was the airport owner and there was an IA who was a retired Command Sgt. Maj. in charge of S.E. US Army helicopter maintenance. This info is about 14 years old, but if the place is still like it was I could not recommend a better "hangout" anywhere, particularly if you're interested in an A&P.

Hey 1340 I think i know what your talking about! I live in Jonesboro (NE) and about 5 miles outside the city limits there is a Classic strip owned by a guy named Marty. I dont know him personally but I believe my dad might. They are EAA and they hold a monthly breakfast meeting that it looks like i will need to attend this saturday :D http://www.eaa437.org/23AR/Home.html is the website - is that the place?

Hi Levi,

Welcome to the site! I Started in CO as well, and miss that part of the country quite frequently.

Hope to see you around the forums.

Hi

The name is Dana. I'm out of Lubbock Texas and am about to go to Flying Tigers for my 137 training. I am trying to find a seat and get started, but this is proving to be interesting.

I grew up in Matador Texas farming for most of my life. I'm 34 years old, started flying a few years ago, and am ready to get started in my new career choice.

Greetings All!

Its great to be apart of the crew! Im a student at the University of Arizona, studying Finance. I am also currently in the Naval ROTC, and aspire to fly for the Navy, once comissioned. After I serve my commitment, I am hoping to seek out a career in aerial application. Growing up on a cotton farm, I have had the opportunity to see the business "in action", however, I am hoping to learn much more with the information provided here!

Hey wannabe & BEARDOWN,

Welcome to the site!
Wannbe, I went to FTA. They are great folks, and will take good care of you. Tell Robert McCurdy, Rob says Hi! As a side note, I needed a turbine transition, and did that with Mr. Robert as well, but we did it while he was working their Thrush just outside of Lubbock. The was helping an operator there named Jeff Burtrand sp?

BEARDOWN, IMHO Naval Aviators are some of the worlds best! If you ever get down towrds Yuma drop ma a line.

Take care, Rob

Hay everyone,

My name is Keith and I ran across this site a week ago and it's been great! I'm just starting out and trying to find the best avenue for my new career. I live outside of Phoenix where I'm flying my Citabria to build tailwheel time. I've been flying professionally since 1993, so I'm not new to aviation, but I have alot to learn about the ag industry. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you and I'm open to any and all suggestions on how to get started.

Rob, did we just speak on the phone the other day? Man, what a small world!!

Take care...
